I have a career as being a Search Engine Optimization (a.k.a. SEO Expert and Analyst) in Kansas City Missouri. I do some SEM consulting for companies located in Kansas City, and Overland Park Kansas. Recently, I have noticed some movement in the search engines while companies and individuals are trying to rank for the top spot for Overland Park SEO and Kansas City SEO.
I am far too busy focusing on actual seo and sem clients analyzing and providing strategies for their businesses that I rarely update KimberlyKimbrough.com. But I thought I would stop for a few minutes and answer one of the questions that I often find to be the first question asked by my client business owners:
What is Search Engine Marketing?
Search engine marketing, otherwise known as PPC marketing (pay per click marketing) is a means to quickly rank your website on the first pages of Google for your keywords. I once was asked to explain the difference between search engine optimization and search engine marketing and found that people distinguish seo (organic) and sem (paid).
Frankly, I think that search engine marketing should refer to a businesses entire online marketing strategy. And optimization is one form of it. But someone who didn’t know what they were talking about decided to call pay per click this name and so that’s what it is now used for.
Search engine marketing is one of the fastest methods of jump starting a website or marketing campaign.
I have personally ran search engine marketing campaigns in Google Adwords for the keywords: advertising jobs kansas city, overland park search engine optimization, and anything else that relates to online marketing strategies.
Adwords ads are the results that appear under the “Sponsored Listings” on the right hand side of the
search results window, as well as the ones that are highlighted above the search results.
SEM Analyst Kansas City is a popular term that I usually appear in the organic search rankings. If you type this in you might see links on the right side or maybe at the very top of the page that are highlighted. These links represent people or businesses who may not be in the organic searches but want to appear in the top listings quickly. This requires them to pay.
