Steve Jobs, the Apple of my Eye, dies

“There may be no greater tribute to Steve’s success than the fact that much of the world learned of his passing on a device he invented.”

“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life.” Steve Jobs 1955-2011

I had been out all day today attending a Google workshop in downtown Kansas City. It was a wonderful event. And I walked in with my daughter and we took our seats. I carried a bright pink laptop case and unzipped it. And out came my 17″ MacBook pro. I looked around the room filled with mostly men, and although they had the look of a computer geek, I had the same equipment that was used by the Google representatives.

I felt empowered and definitely on top of my game.

My daughter was with me and aside from getting sent home with bags full of candy given to her by the Google reps, she also had her smaller MacBook Pro. She captured video and photos of our visit with Google using our iPod.

Afterwards, we went to my daughter’s drum lessons. While there, I pulled out my iPod and recorded the drum lessons. And I charged up my MacBook Pro. Then I came home and sat down in my recliner, popped open my MacBook Pro and saw a story on Yahoo that Steve Jobs is dead. I immediately went to Facebook and wrote the following status update:

Thank you Steve Jobs for introducing me to my “husband.” He’s lean & powerful. Even though they call him a MAC, he is loyal, reliable, & goes with me everywhere. He brings home the bacon! Bought me my 1st diamond studs & my 2nd pair, too. Sent me to all expense paid vacations. & because of him, we got to rub elbows with Google. He doesn’t even mind that I am a stay at home Mom. Thanks Steve for talking me into dropping that nasty PC with all of those viruses. RIP, my brotha.

You left your mark on our desks, on our ears & in our hands. Not many people can say they changed the world. And bring so many people together.

On Twitter, trending topics are “#iSad,” “#RIPSTeveJobs,” and people retweeting the message, “Retweet if you are touching an Apple product right now.”

It’s interesting how human life has been changed by three apples; Adam’s apple, Newton’s apple and the Steve Job’s apple.
