How to Ask for Reinclusion into Google Published on Wednesday, October 14, 2009 by

One of my 86 websites was banned from the search rankings in Google due to a script and code that they considered to be spammy.  Fortunately, I reserve some domains for testing scripts and techniques because I do not dare add techniques to a website that ranks high in the SERPs.  I have seen what happens to really good websites that are burned because the webmaster used an untested SEO or traffic generation technique.

Several months can go by before Google reincludes a website into their search engine rankings.  So the best advice that I can give is to avoid it at all cost.

But should you find your website domain banned, then here are the steps you should take to ask for reinclusion into Google:

(1) Login to Webmaster Tools and check for any crawl errors, such as “URL unreachable” or “URLs restricted by robots.txt” errors. If you have an errors log built into your cpanel, you can check those entries, too.  I notice that search engine spiders can throw a lot of errors and it helps to understand what they find to be invalid on your website.  If you find those errors, dig deeper and see if you can open up those access errors. If those are not your issues, proceed to step two.

(2) Check in Webmaster Tools the Message Center for any notifications of site issues. If there is something there, then follow those recommendations.

(3) Then you want to review the Webmaster Guidelines and patch up any issues with your site that may have caused your site to be de-indexed form Google.

(4) Finally, go back to Webmaster Tools and submit a “reconsideration request,” but only after you are confident your site is in compliance with Google’s Webmaster guidelines.  Do not waste your time, energy and emotions nor Google’s if you have not done everything in your power to clean the site up.
